ROAD SAFETY MEANS RESPECT FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES AND INJURED PERSONS |
||
|
Following a recent two-car road traffic collision involving young people, officers attended to close the road to ensure everyone's safety.
Disappointingly, an impatient female approached the road closure and hurled abuse at police - and a male motorist elected to ignore traffic cones, continuing to drive forward before making contact with an officer's leg.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable.
Our officers are there to protect the public, prevent further harm, and support those involved in traumatic incidents.
Police are human too - they deserve to carry out their duties without fear and to return home safely to their families at the end of every shift.
